Ex-Chelsea, Barcelona star reveals what has changed about Messi at age 32

Cesc Fabregas believes his former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi is now a 'more complete player than ever' at the age of 32.

The pair played together in Barca academy from the age of 12 to 16, before they were later reunited at the Camp Nou in 2011.

Messi had already won five La Liga and three Champions League titles, as well as two Ballon D'or awards by that year.

Messi is widely regarded as the best to have ever graced the game despite not winning Ballon d'Or since 2015 and Fabregas feels he is only getting better.

"That's the thing with Leo, he reinvents himself season after season.

"Maybe he is not the player who dribbles past three, four or five players and score an outstanding goal any more.

"Instead, now, he prefers to do 50-yard passes, leaving Jordi Alba one-versus-one with the goalkeeper.

"He sees one-twos around the box, he might do a chip and an assist... I think now he is more complete than ever," the Monaco star told Goal.

Fabregas joined Arsenal at age 16, before going back to his boyhood club Barca in 2011 which gave him the opportunity to play with the Argentine maestro again.

And they both won several trophies together, including the La Liga title and the Copa del Rey, before he joined Chelsea in 2014.

Messi has since won five Ballon d'Or titles, breaking Barcelona all-time scoring records in the process.
